2000 was the year when Thodoris Zagorakis returned to Greece from the English club Leicester City.
Kimonas held the position of the Marketing Manager in the biggest athletics company, NIKE for 15 years. Between the two sides existed a long lasting friendship and cooperation because NIKE dressed the player. So then began a new course for the top athlete in Greece. The Greek Manager undertook his representation. They went on together.
He played with great success the next 4 years for AEK ATHENS and after he made Europe and the whole world of football talk for the National Team, he was voted by rival players, coaches and journalists, MVP of the 2004 European Championship.
After the great success Kimonas made his transfer to the Italian club Bologna FC in which he was for one year a basic executive. Then in 2005 he returned to Greece and PAOK FC where he ended his football career 2 years later. In June 2007 became President of PAOK FC, a position which held until January of 2012. He was elected as a Greek MEP at the May 2014 European Parliament election.
